Opportunity
We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented part-time Event Coordinator to join our team on-site. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating our weekly themed Open House events, held every Sunday afternoon. You’ll bring creative ideas to life, source sponsors, and help promote the sanctuary’s mission to visitors. This is a part-time role, but there may be potential to expand to full-time based on performance and organizational needs.
About Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary
Dog Tales is a world-renowned dog rescue and horse sanctuary set on an incredible 50 acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas in King City, Ontario. Our picturesque location - complete with kilometers of walking trails, therapy pools, and a grooming spa - is the perfect setting for abused and neglected animals to heal and be rehabilitated while they wait for forever homes. Along with medical care, our team provides all of the love, attention, and training that our rescue animals need to recover from their difficult pasts, so that they can move on to permanent, loving homes, which most do. For the rest, Dog Tales is home for as long as they need it to be.

The Role
As an Event Coordinator, you will take charge of organizing and executing our weekly Open House events, as well as occasional festivals and other large events. Your role is essential to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for visitors while promoting our mission to care for rescued animals. Your key responsibilities will include:
Planning and executing Open House events every Sunday afternoon.
Brainstorming creative themes and engaging activities for each Open House.
Setting up and taking down decorations, props, and event materials.
Sourcing event sponsors and nurturing relationships with current sponsors.
Managing event inventory and ensuring all supplies are on hand.
Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth event operations.
What You Bring

2+ years of event planning experience, particularly with live or public events.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team when needed.

Schedule
This is a part-time role, with work required every Sunday.
