about pumpkin
Pumpkin had little human interaction when she and her siblings came to us, so her world was completely new. Our dog handler team worked hard with Pumpkin on getting her to trust and open up, take treats from their hands, and leash training. She is progressing well! Pumpkin is very comfortable with other dogs and loves to chase and play. We placed Pumpkin in one of our experienced foster homes as we felt it would benefit her progress and prepare her for her forever home.
From Pumpkin's foster family:
Pumpkin is a sweet, quiet, well-behaved girl who gets along equally with her foster family's two dogs. Outside in the yard, she is playful, has super zoomies, and is a lot of fun. She follows the lead of the other dogs, learns from them, and easily adapts to the rhythm of the household. She sleeps quietly in her foster Mom's home office during the day and is very settled and quiet during sleep hours at night. She travels well in the car and loves to hike and walk. With people, Pumpkin is a bit nervous and reserved. She is very curious and seeks to be around her people, but will need time to feel comfortable with touch and affection.
Pumpkin would be best in a quiet home with another dog(s) to guide/play with her and a family she can trust that will give her patience and time to open up and navigate the world. Pumpkin is a flight risk and will require extra precautions in the home (baby gates at doorways, double leashing, GPS, etc).
