about pumpkin
Pumpkin came to us from another shelter where she lived with her siblings since puppies. Unfortunately, she did not have much human interaction and never had the chance to experience love and affection from people. It took time at our shelter to teach Pumpkin how to trust, walk on a leash and just do regular dog activites. Pumpkin has come a long way and her foster family has played a big part in her rehabilitation to prepare her for a forever home. She is now ready to find her family!
Pumpkin has now been in foster for 1 year and here is what her foster family had to share about her…
Pumpkin is a sweet, affectionate, funny girl who keeps us laughing with her dance moves and playfulness.
Always in a good mood, she loves to be outdoors in any weather and shows off her fantastic speed by playing chase games with her foster siblings. She also enjoys car rides, walking, and hiking.
In the house, Pumpkin is fully potty trained, well-behaved and follows the routines well. She has a healthy appetite and loves a good treat.
Pumpkin isn't a dog that climbs on the sofa or bed but will come up beside it to get her ears and neck scratched or say good morning to her humans. She loves it when her foster family sits on the floor to give her love and attention, and she sleeps very well at night on her bed in her foster parent's room.
Pumpkin benefits from a foster home because the kennel environment was very stressful for her. She is fearful of new people and sensitive to noises. It takes her time to warm up to new people, but she is very engaged once she does.
Pumpkin loves playing with other dogs and would benefit from a confident companion she can follow and look to. She would do best in a household without young children and a fenced-in yard where she can run and play.
Pumpkin would be best in a quiet home with another dog(s) to guide/play with her and a family she can trust that will give her patience and time to open up and navigate the world. Pumpkin is a flight risk and will require extra precautions in the home (baby gates at doorways, double leashing, GPS, etc).
